On May 19th 2020 I decided to go and shoot some infrared at Hartsholme Park, a local park near me. My infrared camera only comes out on the most glorious of days due to that being when the photographs turn out the absolute best.
I’ve been desperate to get back into my photography game with the ultimate goal to be setting up a fine art print store pretty soon.
It was 26 degree’s and I didn’t want to stay inside, I needed to go out and get some photographs because, at this point, lockdown is seriously getting to me and affecting my mental health so there’s nothing better for me than to get out the house and be creative in the way I know best, grab some fresh air and stretch the legs. Whilst it didn’t really scratch that itch that I had, I managed to get a few results that I was pretty happy with meaning I could spend a few hours editing and being creative and not thinking about anything else going on in my head.
With my Infrared edits, I especially like to keep blue skies super dark creating an obvious contrast between the clouds and the blue sky. I added in a colour edit too, not something I’d usually do because black and white infrareds’ are my favourites but this edit was quite nice so I chose to include it, let me know what you think and whether or not I should practice more colour edits.
Which one is your favourite? Let me know in the comments below. Did you like the colour edit and would you like to see more?
All photographs in this post were taken with a Canon 400d and edited in lightroom and photoshop.
