It’s been a hefty while since I did one of these posts and that’s because i’ve been busy growing a baby as you may well already know. You can read about all that here:
Anyway, I’ve missed looking back on the Month passed and appreciating all the things that have in-fact made me smile and not made me want to gauge mine or anyone elses eyes out. Trust me, July has been testing for that for sure but I do not let bitterness or more accurately, bitter people win, BUT enough of that, let’s get to the good stuff..
Best bits, July 2019
SEEING MY SISTER LEAVE SCHOOL AND GO TO PROM
Blame it on the pregnancy hormones or blame it on the fact that I was just so proud that Nik had finished school and was going off to her prom to celebrate that I burst into tears as we all said our goodbyes. I never got my own prom, not that I mind because I saw the pictures and it really looked crap compared to the proms of today. I never got to see Lucy off to her prom because back then Stewart couldn’t drive and there was no way of getting me to Gainsborough and back to see her off and Andy, well I don’t even remember him having a prom. I mean the photographs are all there but I don’t remember anything about it.
SEEING MY BABY FOR THE FIRST TIME VIA ULTRASOUND
I’m actually shocked at the amount of people who felt the same as me on their first scan day. Having the feeling that they were going to infact see nothing and that the whole positive test and symptoms thing was in their head, it reasured me that I wasn’t the only one that felt that way but it took a few days for it to actually sink in that that little thing, wriggling around in my belly on the screen was actually mine and wasn’t just a figment of my imagination. I still find myself in a state of disbelief now but then I smile at the thought of seeing it’s tiny little heartbeat on the screen.
RUM AND RAISIN ICE CREAM
It’s not a craving but it’s my favourite flavour of ice cream in the world and has been since I can remember. It’s really helped me this month as every-time I’ve felt anxious Stewart and I have taken a trip to the Bailgate and ended up into my favourite ice cream place on the planet to get my favourite bloomin’ ice cream flavour on the planet!!!
